Why is it important?
It is important because the introduction of the case method into a Chinese teaching environment meets many kinds of resistance and this paper describes how that resistance may be overcome.
Perspectives
We conducted a study of the use of the case method in the top 20 Chinese business schools and found that, although it is mandated by the Department of Education, it is not widely adopted. These results were published in a book. As a follow-up we decided to conduct our own research on how to successfully introduce the case method in a course. The result was this paper.
