A new method for preparation of adsorbent for heavy metals removal

Why is it important?
For the first time, we demonstrated preparation of crosslinked magnetic chitosan particles (MCPs) for heavy metal removal from wastewater using a green method. In particular, we used steel slag and shrimp shells as starting materials, which are wastes of steel production and seafood processing, respectively. Moreover, extracted green tea solution was used as a crosslinker.
