The investigation is on treating with shipboard waste heat. If such a treatment can complement any other proven method, the effectiveness can be increased while the costs can be reduced.
Perspectives
The study adds to the little research in the field. The issue of ballast water is yet to be resolved and such a study would extend the frontiers of options.
