What is it about?

This paper discusses the repatriation to Japan after August-1945 of Japanese technicians / skilled workers who had previously worked for the South Manchurian Railroad Company. The technicians returned to Japan over a number of years. Some technicians willingly chose to remain in China when they had the opportunity to leave whilst others were forced to stay when they wished to leave and others were repatriated when they wished to remain in China (involuntary repatriation).
