What is it about?
The cancer induction risk from medical imaging radiation exposures can be considered a serious challenge in CT scan imaging. The propose of this study was to determine patients' effective dose from the abdominopelvic CT scanning in both cases with and without contrast agent administration and, finally, to estimate cancer induction risk from abdominopelvic CT scanning by 6- and 16-slice CT scanners.

Why is it important?
The cancer induction risk resulted from the abdominopelvic CT scanning was noticeable and approximately same in both scanners. Furthermore, incidence of cancer induction risk at lower age was clearly higher than that at the upper age.
