Follows interactions between an instructional coach and a teacher over the course of a school year, focusing on key moments in their discussion to develop a greater understanding of the types of dialogic interactional choices coaches can make.

Why is it important?
As central as dialogue is to instructional coaching, not enough work has been done to explore how it can be employed in teacher/coach interactions. A greater understanding can help support coaches in refining and growing their practice.
Perspectives
This is the first in what we expect will be a number of explorations of the role, shape, and power of dialogue in the coaching process. We have built on this article, and will continue to do so.
