Analysis of breeding information obtained from nesting boxes maintained by Game and Fauna Service in Cyprus since 1996. Clutch and brood size are given. Also information on reproduction period. Population trends for the species are given along with correlation of summer abundance to January precipitation.

Why is it important?

This is the first published information on the species breeding biology in Cyprus. Summer abundance is correlated to January precipitation; this is important due to East Med climate change towards drier climate.
