What is it about?
This paper presents a survey of eight major translation journals via bibliometric methods with the aim of investigating the development and state of the merging area between Discourse Analysis and Translation Studies in the period 1990-2013. It first looks into the diachronic changes in the papers under examination in a purpose-built database so as to outline the general trend of the research field, and then identifies the main trends by conducting a thematic analysis of the findings. Finally, the geographical distribution of the existing papers is presented to explore the development of the subject area in different world regions.
