What is it about?
It is a study of student engagement in a large university in Ethiopia. We establish that the assessment of student engagement is a valid facet in determining HE quality, contributing holistically alongside quality assurance and university rankings.

The results illustrate empirical support for the nine-factor engagement scale and a number of associated factors related to student demographics and university experience.. This study provides evidence that student engagement may differ depending on the student demographics and the type of engagement measure used.
Perspectives
The construct of student engagement is not a single concept, but a catch-all concept to describe a tripartite perspective of student learning experience: the student, teaching, and institutional impact.
