What is it about?
This invited commentary draws on the IFSW Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development as it explores various approaches to eco-social work. In addition, highlights the importance of foregrounding eco-social principles in transformative theory and practice in social work curricula, codes of ethics, and standards for professional practice.

Why is it important?
The social work profession has considerable capacity to contribute to social transformation and sustainable social development. Multilevel strategies are needed to holistically transform the profession and its eco-social aspirations.
