What is it about?

The paper explores how to decide when (vulnerable) young people can make their own decisions about issues such as medical care or information sharing. Legislation and regulations rely on the need for making individual decisions about this, based on things like the type of decision and risks involved, and the age, maturity, and experience of the young person. Above all, a supportive trusting relationship with an adult allows young people to learn through their own mistakes.
