The University of Leeds approach to training counsellors/ psychotherapists

What is it about?

This publications summarises many years of development within the University of Leeds teaching team, informed by research. The Relational Dynamic Approach is strongly influenced by current thinking about intersubjectivity both within psychoanalytic and humanistic thinking, as well as cognitive science. Practice strengths include an understanding of metaphor and creativitiy, together with embodied and subtle experiencing.

Why is it important?

This publication introduces a coherent approach to training that rivals and updates existing models, integrating as it does a trans-disciplinary understanding of research-informed wisdom associated with the therapeutic relationship as an intersubjective phenomenon.
