What is it about?

A novel magnetic dispersive solid phase extraction method using magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes modified with bismuthiol II (MMWCNTs@Bis) as the sorbent was developed for the separation and preconcentration of inorganic selenium (IV) prior to its determination by electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry.

Why is it important?

In this sstudy, magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes were for the first time modified with bismuthiol II and used as the sorbent in MDSPE of Se(IV).

Perspectives

The high specific surface area of the MMWCNTs sorbent resulted in excellent capacity and consequently, high preconcentration factor and low detection limit for the analyte.
