Why is it important?
This paper shows that agricultural input subsidy programs in Botswana have counteracted the government policy to diversify the agricultural sector away from cereals since it shows that input subsidies have led to an increase in land allocated to cereals. The results are important since they will inform the redesign of input subsidy programs in Botswana and provide lessons for other developing countries.
