Why is it important?

Carbohydrate and caffeine are very popular supplements to use. If assessing athletes and/or using these supplements then there implications for how data is interpreted. It is very important to control these substances if efficiency is part of a physiological assessment.

Perspectives

Matthew Cole's excellent thesis (from which this study was taken) has continued a research theme on unpicking training and dietary influences on exercise efficiency.
