What is it about?

It is usually knew that variable practice is a effective strategy of improve open motor skills. However, in closed skills is actually controversial. In this study our aim was analys the effects of variability practice in the improvement of tennis serve compareing two different methodologies (consistence & variable practice).

Why is it important?

We present a evidences about the use of new methodologies in the improvements of closed motor skills. The results showed a increase of velocity of serve after training in both groups. Nevertheless, the group of practice in variable conditions increased their accuracy significantly compared with the consistency group. Therefore, the practice in variable conditions seems to be effective in improving the performance of the tennis serve.
