What is it about?

Nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus contaminate our water resources through their losses with runoff and eroded soil

Why is it important?

By estimating N and P losses with runoff and soil erosion we can design appropriate measures to reduce these losses to an acceptable level

Perspectives

The study used natural rainfall data to investigate N and P losses within the River Tigris Basin. This a step forward since most relevant studies used simulating rainfall. Additionally, similar studies in the region of West Asia and North Africa are rare.
