What is it about?
The article looks for coverage of parliamentary history in more than 35 textbooks spanning two centuries. Parliament guarded Norwegian interests during the Union with Sweden 1815-1905. Towards the end of that period, there was a rise in Norwegian nationalism. Consequently, Parliament became more important as an issue in history. Coverage declined in the last few decades of the twentieth century, as social history and international history advanced in the public consciousness.
