What is it about?

The Multiannual Financial Framework 2021–2027 (EU 7-year budget) and the pandemic recovery package (called NextGenerationEU) were presented as the “largest stimulus package ever” in the EU. Therefore, we propose a new model that implies a different EU policy which puts entrepreneurship on the path toward and not away from sustainable development.

Why is it important?

Rather than focusing on necessity-driven entrepreneurship, the EU needs to develop an ecosystem where entrepreneurship favours innovation, promoting a sustainable economic model across member states (budget 2021–2027) and offering a countercyclical response to the crisis that protects vulnerable citizens, employment and companies (pandemic recovery package).

Perspectives

Lay the foundations for a desirable entrepreneurial paradigm for the future that is driven by opportunity and embedded in a Circular Economy aligned to global well-being.
