What is it about?

Working women in Africa are struggling to balance family and work responsibilities. This study examine the available laws and policies which enabled women with family responsibilities to balance their work and family.

Why is it important?

There are increasing in the number of women entering the labour market every year, however, our findings suggest that most African countries have not yet developed the mechanisms to support women to balance their paid work responsibilities and unpaid family work.

Perspectives

Writing this article with co-authors from different continent gives me great pleasure and understanding of how different context s of the country economy and culture shape policies and laws regarding women work and family. This article increases my interest in researching women and social policy in developing countries
