Why is it important?
This paper describes how visuals can be recorded and used in a scientific way that will support people who want to understand the impacts of disasters and design recovery programs to help their residents rebuild.
Perspectives
Many communities work through recovery with detailed data on the damages or recovery progress. I think that photography provides a way to record these and the visuals can be used to garner more attention and recognition of needs during disaster recovery.
