What is it about?
AOS was employed to improve the performances of double alkyls glyceryl ether ethoxylates and double-chain sulfobetaines applied in surfactant-polymer flooding. The tertiary mixture can reduce the Daqing crude oil/connate water IFT to ultralow, promote resistance against adsorption on the sandstone, keep the sandstone surface water-wet, and emusify the crude oil as an O/W emuslsion.

Why is it important?
AOS, a kind of industrial anionic surfactants, with good solubility, is different the other conventional surfactants. It could improve the solubility of double-chain sulfobetaines and increase the cloud point of nonionic surfactants as a result of the formation of charged mixed micelles.
Perspectives
This paper provided a method of improving the stalibity of some surfactant mixtures applied in surfactants flooding. It is an interesting and significative research.
