What is it about?

The low organic matter is serious issues pertaining to the high tilled soil in most of the Asian countries including Pakistan. The reason for low productivity of cereals particularly wheat on such soils could be associated with high pH which renders micronutrients unavailability there. In this research work, we found that addition of humic substances is likely to improve wheat growth and nutrients contents of soil.

Why is it important?

The over fertilization particularly in cereal production system is been seeing economically not viable as well as environmentally not a friendly option. Hence, therefore, it has been shown that humic substances along with rationale use of mineral fertilizers could not only improve crop productivity but also pave the way for sustainability of natural resources.
