Why is it important?
Understanding the biology of endangered species is always an important aspect required to undertake suitable conservation actions. Also, in Australia, black throated finches have become an important symbol of conservation versus development, as certain development proposals threaten the habitat of this bird, perhaps rendering the requirement for knowledge of their biology more immediate.
