What is it about?

How blood flow changes during learning based on spatial ability. This change in blood flow is proportional to cognitive processing. That is, the more blood flow, the greater cognitive processing. Blood supplies oxygen to active areas in the brain. We measured the critical artery that supplies blood to areas responsible for visual interpretation.

Why is it important?

This work shows that spatial ability limits an individual's ability to work with complex images. This is important as more digital resources such as complex images are used for teaching and learning.
