What is it about?

Admiral Sir John Fisher liked to portray himself as a revolutionary and many historians have accepted that self-depiction. However, in reality, many of the so-called Fisher "revolutions" were really natural evolutions from policies pursued by his predecessors.

Why is it important?

Fisher's "radical Jack" image is one that he worked hard to perpetuate and it has proven very alluring to generations of historians, but it is not the whole story and we need to see past the carefully curated image that Fisher crafted.
