What is it about?

The aim of this paper is to introduce minimal free resolution of monomial ideals. Minimal free resolution enables us to have many algebraic invariant of an ideal.

Why is it important?

In general, it is very difficult to determine whether the syzygy of a graded ideal is non-zero at a certain degree or not. In this paper, it ish shown that when the syzygy of a certain degree is non-zero for monomial ideals.
