Why is it important?

Paying more attention to diplomatic, geopolitical and economic complexities of the Turkish-Soviet relations, scholars have rarely problematized the Soviet Union perceptions of Turkish ideological transformations. This research brings new perspectives in studying Kemalism.

Perspectives

In order to better understand the challenges that Turkish state and society are currently facing, it is significant to examine their relationship with the ideological foundations of the country. The better we understand Kemalism, the more we know about Turkey.
