Why is it important?

Polymer and ceramic coatings are enable to modify the performance characteristics of bulk materials, adding particular advantages that that them attractive in the medical field. For example, these coatings can add enhanced corrosion protection, antiwear, antibacterial and biocompatibility properties.


The review brings up to date (2017-2021) a widely read earlier review that received many citations.
