The article examines the diverse and technical roles libraries undertake to promote scholarly publications at The UWI. Issues discussed include plagiarism and access which are now prevalent topics in academia

Why is it important?

It is important to clearly define and promote the role of the library to its many users. It refines job scopes and descriptions and it serves to portend possibilities of libraries and scholarly publishing models.

Perspectives

When I co-authored this paper I was unaware of much of the etiquette of publishing such as first authorship rights, etc. As I grew in academia, I had to research to self-educate and now I work and present to inform and educate others.
