What is it about?

Widjojo Nitisastro was the dominant economic policy-maker in Indonesia during the Soeharto era for almost three decades. First as a professor of economics from the University of Indonesia, and then later in a series of senior economic ministerial and advisory positions, he provided key advice to Soeharto and the Indonesian cabinet. His advice was not always accepted, and bad policy decisions were sometimes made, but for many years Widjojo's work underpinned good economic policy in Indonesia.
