What is it about?

This article focusses on the CEO of a multi-academy trust (MAT) in England. MATs are groups of schools that are independent non-fee paying schools free from local authority control. It examines the professional practices of a school leader doing leading and exercising leadership in a complex organisation that is run as a corporation. The CEO adopts certain corporate practices which are different from previous leadership practices of a public education system.
