What is it about?

Donald Judd is one of the most regularly discussed artists since the mid-1960s both within and outside North America. While this was also the case during his lifetime, towards the end of which he nevertheless stated that no one had as yet discussed the main concern in his art: space. This essay begins with those who have so far done so, then advances the present understanding of how Judd created space by considering his work within a framework of homogeneous and heterogeneous space.
