What is it about?

In this article, we found that situations characterised by high levels of complexity, uncertainty and divergence are better handled by organisations that are non-bureaucratic and have higher levels of digitalisation and flexibility among line workers and managers.

Why is it important?

The effective functioning of public organisations depends on the public policy agenda being carried out. Moreover, significant influence was demonstrated in cases of higher non-bureaucratic (hybrid) structures, greater digitalisation, and greater worker and leadership flexibility. Simultaneously, the higher their organisational resilience, the greater the probability that they will be able to continue achieving their work goals even in situations characterised by unpredictable events, high levels of complexity, uncertainty and divergence.

Perspectives

Knowledge of specific factors influencing organisational resilience is important for managers of public organisations, who can make decisions and implement procedures that will lead to its implementation.
