What is it about?
We explain the problems in coastal tourism development policy of not always directly addressing climate change. We suggest that the coast is at the front line of changing awareness towards climate change. We also recognise the wellbeing benefits of the coast as an additional benefit to the economic value of tourism.

Why is it important?
The connection between using the coast as an educational focus for climate change and combining this idea with coastal tourism development is a concept which has not been discussed before.
