What is it about?

Where seeing ends, and writing starts? We focus on how observation is mediated and mutated by the necessity to register its results in writing. Especially when observers-writers represent diverse disciplinary standards. In our paper we tracked how fieldnotes work as devices to produce local consensus regarding what to observe in the field, what it means and why it is important.
