Despite economic growth across the globe,extreme poverty persists especially in Sub Sahara Africa .Income and wealth inequalities have further increased and corruption,which hurts the poor most continues to be high.Billions of dollars are being transferred illicitly from developing countries.. The article focuses on these issues and mentions ethical dimensions of our development model.

This article describes development of concepts of poverty in India over last seven decades, large corruption,and income /wealth inequality and weaves ethical dimensions of the growth process in global economies


It was great experience connecting the dots of poverty ,Amartya Sen Development model,inequalities, corruption and large illicit money transfers which effect living standards in poor countries.
