Research and Development (R&D) and human capital work have established their positions, but do they actually boost the exports of firms in Ghana? This study explores the extend to which R&D and human capital affect export behavior as well as the mediating role of innovation in this relationship.

Why is it important?
The study contributes to the extant literature on firm export behavior by offering new insights into the interplay between R&D, human capital and export behavior of African firms, particularly firms in Ghana. This would in turn assist in developing innovative ways for achieving firm growth which is an important channel for reducing poverty in Africa
