What is it about?
The paper seeks to uncover the reasons that students have for the levels of apprehension they feel towards delivering oral presentations. It uses both quantitative data, in the form of the widely used PRCA-24 questionnaire, and qualitative data, through student reflective comments.

Why is it important?
This study is important because it provides qualitative evidence to illustrate responses to the widely used PRCA-24 questionnaire. Few previous studies have collected additional qualitative data to help explain the reasons why some students are confident presenters and others are nervous presenters. Additionally, the paper provides insights into the reasons some people feel apprehensive about communicating and others do not. With this understanding we can develop strategies to reduce apprehensive feelings towards presenting and help improve student success in this field.
