What is it about?

Collaboration between teachers and senior leadership teams is at odds with the idea of male role models, promoting men into a position of power and career advancement. This paper examines and explores why these two conflicting views exist.

Why is it important?

The findings show that the influence society and societal views have over schools and the way they promote and employ individuals is rather substantial. There is an overreliance on the use of gender as the main criterion to employ more male teachers into schools, rather than competent successful teachers.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great experience from being a practitioner to researching and writing about my field. hope this makes educators aware that there needs to be more focus on the influence of outside agencies on the decision made within education.
