This work is about direct payments provided under the common agricultural policy and their reform especially the convergence mechanism that represents an attempt to make the distribution of direct payments more equal among beneficiaries.

The uniqueness of this work is that it represents one of the first attempt to estimate the impact of direct payments convergence mechanism on italian farms.
Perspectives
Writing this article represented a great challenge because it sums up the efforts made so far by myself in the analysis of direct payments distribution among italian farms.
