What is it about?
We test statistical methods for assessing heterogeneous collections of historic houses, when you have more than five hundred objects and the complete inventory is too time consuming.

Why is it important?
This a new method to show you how to create a representitive sample of the collections oh historic houses. This was one of the aims of the European Protocol in Preventive Conservation (EPICO) research programme: the project has been awarded with the European Heritage Award Europa Nostra, winning also the Grand Prix at the 2018 European Heritage Awards in Berlin: http://www.europeanheritageawards.eu/winners/epico-european-protocol-preventive-conservation-coordinated-versailles/
