What is it about?

Graphic organizers are visual thinking tools. Can they help Chinese primary school students enhance their understanding of text structure? This paper examines the application of two graphic organizers (story maps and spider maps) in reading classes and also explores students’ opinions on using them.

Why is it important?

Our research results indicate that students’ awareness of text structure has improved, and students in general have a positive attitude towards using graphic organizers in reading classes.

Perspectives

Writing this article made me feel extremely grateful and excited, because its co-author is a crucial mentor in both my academic and personal life. This article officially opened up my academic path, gave me the sense of achievement in conducting research, and also benefited my students in their English learning. It is my sincere hope that you find as much inspiration in these pages as I did in writing them.
