What is it about?
Many countries are today promoted as tourist destinations in order to create economic growth. However, a growing tourism industry can lead to a number of challenges in a society and can compromise the well-being of the local population. This article examines this dilemma in the context of the Faroe Islands, a previously unknown country that today has become globally recognised as a tourist destination.
