What is it about?
This article examined how racist discourse is reconstructed in films. The neofascist characters studied frequently used racial slurs and directives. Immigrants were presented as a threat to white rights, jobs and public safety and modern cities were perceived by racist speakers as dystopic. It was also found that xenophobia and antisemitism intersected with gender-related bias.

Why is it important?
Although the language of extreme nationalism has been a topic of interest to many researchers, little research exists on the cinematic representation of racism.
Perspectives
This article is my first publication so it's very special to me. I really enjoyed working on it, mainly because I was part of a group of young researchers, each of whom contributed an article to this special issue and I am truly thankful for the excellent collaboration with the editors and reviewers.
