What is it about?

How the text of translation changes from the initial draft version to the final official one. The experiment is done on English to Lithuanian translations of EU documents. The paper presents different corpus analysis tools and techniques: multilingual concordancers, frequency lists, and statistical analysis.

Why is it important?

It's important as it analyses the process of translation (phases), which is different from traditional analyses of final translations.

Perspectives

At that time I was a young researcher and this was my first publication in the international journal. I was lucky to accidentally come across the data, where initial versions of translation were preserved in a systematic manner. I should also acknowledge the support and inspiration given to me by my colleague Pernilla Danielsson.
