What is it about?

The German philosopher Vinzenz Gru(e)ner was a member of the youngest generation of Masters at the prehussitic university of Prague and afterwards one of the first Masters of philosophy at the newly founded (since 1409) university of Leipzig. There he designed the "Compendium artium", a schoolbook for the Bachelors of Arts, in the years between 1410 and 1414. The article contains the first critical edition of two chapters of that "Compendium", dedicated to the "Ars Vetus" - commentary. Vinzenz Gruner there refers among other themes to the well known controversy about the universals. Hans-Ulrich Wöhler introduces his edition by a short analysis of Gruner´s philosophical positions.
