What is it about?
Glioblastoma multiforme is a devastating brain tumor, which has been impervious to immune interventional therapies. Here, we characterized the phenotype of tumor-infiltrating T cells. We have shown that CD4+ T cells infiltrating the tumor site bear features of T helper 17 (TH17) cells.

Why is it important?
The presence of intratumoral TH17 cells may hamper productive anti-tumor immune responses and instead create a milieu permissive to further tumor growth. Local inhibition of TH17 responses may be a prerequisite for efficient anti-tumor immunity in glioblastome multiforme.
