What is it about?

This study shows how the relationship between distributed solar energy developers and electricity utilities has change over the preceding half century. It shows how coalitions changed and policy support waxed and waned. It leads up to the current situation and emerging opportunities.

The study is part of a special issue on how sustainability transitions perspectives can contribute to policy analysis and sustainability science. Research in sustainability transitions often focuses on societal context and long-term changes in sustainability systems such as the energy system.
