What is it about?

This paper reevaluates the phylogeny of early perissodactyls. It reveals large-scale dispersals during the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (56 Million years ago). In addition some species previously thought as closely related to horses are actually stem-perissodactyls.
